Handmade Haute*ness: Southern Charm

Southern Charm

Of all the places I have traveled, the American South holds a special place in my heart.  Life moves a little more slowly there.  People take their time.  Maybe that’s because of how beautiful their surroundings are.  St. Francisville, Louisiana, Natchez, Mississippi, Savannah, Georgia…they are all stunning in their own unique and yet typically southern way.  Magnolias trees bloom and live oak trees line the streets, spanish moss dripping from their branches.  Towns filled with antebellum homes  in various states of repair and disrepair, each with their own charm and beauty.  To walk the streets of these towns is to walk through history.  It is easy to imagine sitting in a rocking chair on one of these majestic home’s large verandas, sipping a mint julep or some sweet tea and watching the world go by.  It was with this daydream in mind that I set to searching Etsy for southern inspired pieces of handmade goodness.  So why don’t you sit a spell, have a look and I’ll be right back with that nice tall glass of sweet tea.
