THE FIRST MOVIE I ever saw Maggie Gyllenhaal in was Donnie Darko and I paid little attention to her, but then I saw Secretary and that was it. It was all over. I as hooked. I fell in absolute love with the movie (it’s in my top ten favorites, easily) as well as Maggie’s acting, quirky charm and unique beauty.
SHE ISN’T AFRAID TO TAKE RISKS with her roles or her wardrobe. Mix one part Katherine Hepburn, one part Greta Garbo and one part Audrey Hepburn and there’s Maggie Gyllenhall – one hell of an actress and personality.
FOR THOSE UNFAMILIAR with her work (and while Batman was good, it doesn’t count as “being familiar…”), I suggest you start with Secretary and work your way forward. You can thank me later. And just remember I told you so. *wink*
