HOUSE SITTING. It’s like a little free vacation. You get a break from your daily routine without the hassle and expense of real travel. Playing Goldilocks, sleeping in someone else’s bed and eating their porridge, but hopefully without the bears. That is precisely what Mischa and I did last week…we house sat for my parents.
MY PARENTS live in what I consider to be the country (although I’m sure they’d disagree. There is, after all, more than one grocery store and gas station, but to me it feels very rural). With so little noise and little to do, the days were quiet and relaxing.
SO HOW DID I SPEND my mini-vacation? Mischa and I had a Harry Potter-athon while I nursed (and am still nursing – this is going on day 7 now) a migraine.
EVERY MORNING, with my head feeling like the kraken was trying to claw its way out, I woke and tended their garden. These were the literal fruits of their labor – delicious organic homegrown goodies straight from the garden. Yum yum in my tum.

Which of your labors bore fruit this week?
