SMALL Town Security (on AMC) is, hands down, one of the most brilliant, unexpectedly thoughtful and strangely addictive shows on television. (In case you have no idea what I’m talking about you can get the complete details in my totally fangirl-y Small Town Security post, That’s A Speecy Spicy Meatball.) It is not what one would expect from a show about a small security company (JJK Security) and its employees in Ringgold, Georgia.
Small Town Security is honest, compelling, hilarious and heartwarming; the cast is sincere, open, uncensored (well…emotionally anyway…verbally that’s another matter entirely) and genuine; the crew is compassionate, creates a sense of intimacy that is unparalleled in the genre, clever and the production value is outstanding – and those are all things you will never hear me say in regards to reality television, because reality TV is anything but.
SMALL TOWN SECURITY IS THE GOLDEN NEEDLE IN THE ROTTING, SENSATIONALISTIC AND CONTRIVED HAYSTACK THAT IS REALITY TELEVISION.
SMALL TOWN SECURITY IS AS REAL AS IT GETS…
…and it will draw you in whether you like it or not. Sure it has its haters but those individuals are missing the point (and the poignancy) of this show and the inherent beauty of the people whose lives it shares with us every week.
So what’s the big announcement and what does this show have to do with it?
Small Town Security is taking over Kisses & Chaos!
In a three part series, a few of the stars of Small Town Security will be doing our first ever video version of The Same 7! Brian Taylor, private investigator and office manager of JJK Security (pictured above) was kind enough to conduct the interviews on my behalf (HUGE thanks to you, Brian. I literally couldn’t have done this without you) and I couldn’t be more excited.
This Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we’re getting Random & Weird with christa, Dennis & Brian.
It’s my birthday present to myself and my un-birthday present to you. I hope you enjoy their interviews as much as I do and that if you aren’t already a fan of the show this will encourage you to snuggle up with your Netflix and spend an evening with the guys at JJK. The first episode is full of some seriously massive surprises and it only begins to scratch the surface. If you aren’t hooked then keep watching. You will be.
