YOU MAY have noticed a few small changes here and there popping up on Kisses & Chaos, like the new Project 52 and Words of Wisdom banners for example.  The reason?

 

KISSES & CHAOS IS GETTING A MAJOR SITE REDESIGN.

AND it’s coming very, very soon.  I’m putting the finishing touches on it at this very moment and I’m so excited I could pop.

 

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

FOR STARTERS, much easier site navigation.  I’ve been restructuring categories and tags to try and make it streamlined.  Like some regular features more than others?  You’ll be able to access the archives of some of your favorite topics from the sidebar; no more using the search bar and then wading through posts to find one that strikes your fancy.  All you’ll need to do is click a button.

THE APPEARANCE is also undergoing a substantial change…an entirely new aesthetic and one that is more in line with my personal style…or one aspect of it at least since my personal style varies wildly depending on my mood.  But the site will be cleaner and more cohesive…and of course it will still be black.  Always black.  Always.  I lurves me some black.

SHOPPING with me will now be easier as well.  I’ll still be offering distance reiki sessions and single card tarot readings but there will be new services available…not to mention a whole slew of new handmade goodies and product lines which I can’t wait to surprise you with…teehee!

I WILL ALSO finally be offering Limited Edition Fine Art prints (signed, numbered…the whole sha-bang).  Yes, there will still be open edition prints available on Society 6 as well as clocks, shower curtains, rugs (yeah…you can now buy rugs with my art on them.  Crazy!), pillows, mugs and the like but the selection and sizes available will be vastly different…and again, with new product lines (can we say more scifi and geek chic?  oh hell yes we can!) coming soon.

I HOPE you’ll love the changes as much as I do and are equally excited.  Please remember that there are always growing pains.  Which means there may be a hiccup or two along the way no matter how much I plan.  If you should happen to run into one such hiccup please contact me and let me know.  I want these changes to make Kisses & Chaos easier for you to use and subsequently more enjoyable…and if there are a few parts that are wonky then by all means speak up.

SO in the next few weeks don’t be surprised if you come for a visit and find things completely transformed.  You’re still in the right right place…and it’s still all about the love…well…weirdness and love, but love nonetheless. *wink*

farm living

 

I HAVE LIVED all over this country.  I’ve lived in Philly, Houston and Austin.  I’ve traveled the country living in a van with a massive, hairy goofball of a dog.  I’ve lived in the desert.  I’ve lived in the bayou.  I’ve lived in the North.  I’ve lived in the South.  I’ve lived in small towns.  I’ve lived in the country.  And with all that living I’ve learned a few things:

 

My heart belongs to the South.

 
THERE ARE things I loved about living in the Northeast and I loved them in a way that’s hard to explain.  I loved the way the breeze would move the long white sheers on my bedroom windows.  I loved the gorgeous view of the valley I had from those windows and the way the thunder was thick and would roll for days off the hillsides.  I loved all the history that surrounded me.  I loved those things…and I still do.  They make me smile.  But my heart belongs to the South.

 

I also learned that my roots run deep.

 

I GREW UP on a small farm in Kansas running around naked playing with turtles, picking berries and helping my mom in the garden.  And as much as I love the convenience of city life (like going to shows, good restaurants, the ballet, museums, and being able to wear my beloved big-ass platform shoes without people giving me odd looks) and as much as I tried to fight it well into my late twenties…

I want to return to my roots and live in the country again.

 

I WANT to run around naked and have bonfires and pick berries and play with turtles and have a garden of my own.  I want the beauty and the privacy.  I want to have a family and chase my kids around the farm, happily playing the way my mom chased me.  I want my art and a family and a love-filled life where we can all lay outside snuggled up on a blanket and see the stars…all of them…

THAT’S PART of my dream.  And even with all my talking today I’m still counting this as a Wordless Wednesday because I can…as I share part of my daydream with you…as I share part of the life I hope to have someday by sharing some farm living inspiration with you.  Enjoy.

big mouth strikes again

I REALLY STRUGGLED with this week’s theme (which was “vast,” by the way).  It wasn’t because I struggled with the concept.  It was because the powers that be (heretofore to be known as The PTB) threw me a slew of curveballs last week.

I KICKED off the week with a three day tension migraine so mighty that my medications didn’t even make a dent in it.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!   Good times.  Good times.

THIS WAS promptly followed days of rain making the shot I had in mind an impossibility.  So what’s a girl to do?

 

I thought of the biggest, most immense things I own…my  mouth and my imagination.

 

AND THAT is precisely what I shot…my mouth and my imagination.  Those who know me well know I do my fair share of talking…coupled with my inquisitive nature (I constantly ask my best friends questions…sometimes really weird random stuff I’ve been pondering and sometimes poking around wanting to know more about their thoughts, beliefs, details of their professions, lives…you get the idea) my mouth and the constant whirl of thoughts that is my mind is a universe unto itself.  And that’s how this week’s Project 52 came to be…big mouth strikes again…
