A strange and disturbing thing happened Sunday morning.  As my honey and I were enjoying our coffee at Sweetbay,  the most ill-mannered child walked by (unattended, of course…what is this world coming to?) and do you know what he did?  He bit me!  As though that weren’t bad enough he appeared to be rather under the weather…he looked awful!  We ran straight home and cleaned up the wound but it looks like I caught whatever the little bugger had.  I’m not feeling very well…not well at all.  But I was bound and determined to go out with my honey for Halloween…and go out we did.  Here are some pics my sweetie took before our night out.  Please excuse my pallor…

I have always wanted to go to a corn maze. Don’t ask me why because I have no answer…it’s just something I have always wanted to do. After some googling I found one that looked awesome and wasn’t too much of a drive (it was 3 hours each way…which, having lived in Texas for the past 16 years and having to drive for an eternity to get anywhere, was a breeze). My honey wasn’t quite as excited as I was…there were more than a few eye rolls on his part, but being the awesome hubby that he is he agreed to go.

The website informed us we would need to bring water and comfy shoes as it took 2-3 hours to complete the maze. We were done in less than 30 minutes. I don’t know if we’re just super-awesome at navigating mazes or if the people who created the 2-3 hour estimate are really bad at it, but it didn’t really matter. We had a great time (a dusty time, but great nonetheless). Who knows, this may just become a family tradition.

In honor of Halloween, I present my Ultimate Zombie Survival List.  I have listed some of my favorite zombie resources. Soak it all in ladies and gents. You never know when the zombie apocalypse will occur.  Remember, knowledge is power, so make sure you’re fully armed for the zombie outbreak. This is my absolute favorite time of year.  The cool, crisp air, the leaves turning, wearing jackets and sweaters, and pumpkin flavored everything…I’m in heaven.  But the absolute, 100% best thing about fall is Halloween.  I LOVE it.  From the glittery skulls(Thank you, Target!) to Zombie Walks, I love it from tip to toe.  The second Halloween sections go up in stores, I am there with cash in hand, ready to shop for all manner of ghoulish delights.  Here are 5 things I’ll be doing  to get into the Halloween spirit :

1)      Wearing Halloween socks.  Every year I buy a pair.  It’s an odd tradition my mom started when I was in college (how cool is she?).  I still do it and it makes me smile.  I have a decent sized collection now too…by the time I’m 80 I’ll need an separate dresser just house them all!

2)      Hanging my boo-tiful handmade glitteriffic Halloween Garlands.  This one greets me every time I walk upstairs into our foyer.

3)      Watching spooky/scary movies.  I’ve listed my 10 favorites here.

4)    Looking at pictures of Vermont’s Giant Pumpkin Regatta.  This looks like so much fun!

5)   Listening to some spooktacular mixes I made.  Feel free to nick my playlist and make them your own.  Nothing sets the mood like good music.
